The Choice Is Yours

"Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods yourancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:14-15

I am so thankful that everyday I have the choice to live for Jesus, or not to live for Jesus. I love the fact that I serve a God who doesn't make me love Him, He doesn't make me read His Word, He doesn't make me Worship Him, He doesn't make me pray. He gives us the free will to decide whether or not we want to be in a relationship with Him.

In Joshua 24 the Israelites were making poor decisions on who they were choosing to worship. Their affection was given to false iols made from images created by them. They had forgotten all that God had done for them. They chose to worship other gods that didn't bring them out of slavery, other gods who didn't protect them from danger, other gods who didn't save them from starvation. Joshua reminded the Israelites of all that God had done for them and brought them through. The Israelites remembered and chose to serve God alone.

The choice is yours. If you have walked away fom Jesus and have chosen to do your own thing you can choose today to turn back to Jesus!

Revelation 3:20 says, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."

Jesus won't break down the door of your heart and make you spend time with Him. He is politely knocking on the door of your heart, waiting to be invited in.

John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Choose this day who you will serve....the choice is yours!
There is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. He gives us the free will to do what we want but there are life and death consequences in our daily decisions and choices.
